Lanzarote Nightlife – Canary Islands – Spain by

The liveliest areas for nightlife in Lanzarote are the islands capital, Arrecife and the resort of Puerto del Carmen.

Both Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise tend to be quieter and offer far less choice in terms of bars and clubs.

Nightlife in Puerto del Carmen

Spas in Lanzarote Centro – the central section of the main strip in the Avenida de las Playas – is the epicenter of nightlife in Puerto del Carmen. Here you will find a big selection of late night bars and clubs – such as 928, Paradise and Waikiki – as well as the resorts main clubs, Ceasars and Disco Ibiza.

If you are looking for something a little more stylish and contemoporary then there are a number of more modern bars that are well worth checking out too.

Chief amongst these is the recently opened Rumm – which is based in the Old Town harbour area. Rumm has three distinct zones – a lounge bar, disco and an uber cool VIP area. The whole space has been designed by Madrid based architect Tomas Alia and the disco is open from midnight onwards every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There are a number of other quality llounge bars that also come highly recommended.

Nightlife in Playa Blanca

Unlike Puerto del Carmen nightlife in Playa Blanca is a little more dispersed across the resort and certainly a lot more low key. Chief attractions include Lanzarote´s very own branch of the Café del Mar – which is located in the Marina Rubicon. Outside of the summer months though this is often busiest during the day or at sundown. Other good spots include the recently reopened Disco Mojitos which is located at the Plaza de Hotel Princess Yaiza, and is open from 11.30pm-5am every Friday and Saturday. The buzziest bars are concentrated around Punto Limones, which is adjacent to the ferry port and in the Commerical Centre Papagayo, which is close to the beach at Playa Dorada.

Nightlife in Costa Teguise

Like Playa Blanca, nightlife in Costa Teguise is fairly dispersed across the resort and lacks a central hub such as Centro in Puerto del Carmen. The resorts popularity with families means that younger clubbers often head off to Arrecife or Puerto del Carmen. The Pueblo Marinero (home to the Friday evening market) is home to a number of long established bars – such as Chispas, which offers some of the cheapest drinks on the island (bottle of Heineken at just €1.50) and makes for a good spot to kick the evening off. Saxos and Jellyfish – opposite the Occidental Teguise Playa – both offer late dancing and drinking and Legends – round the corner from the Lanzarote Gardens Hotel – has live music most nights of the week. As does the Rock Garden which has recently opened close to the Coronas Playas Hotel.

Nightlife Resources

Lanzarote plays host to a number of great events, such as the Costas Music Festival, which is staged in September in Costa Teguise and JazzCanarias every July. Keep an eye on our homepage for all the latest event news and information.
